BASIC OBLIGATIONS: besides the initial file set up with certain forms, each year member must pay an annual registration fee and turn in annual forms outlined below:

-
Annually: Each year returning families must submit a re-enrollment form, a course of study for each child and pay the annual registration fee. annually, as required by California state law. Annual forms will be provided before the start of each school year, with popular re-enrollment months being mid-May, June, July, and August.

-
Attendance is collected quarterly and to be compliant with California law it is mandatory, so it’s important to respond to Administrator requests when it's time to file. The administrator provides an easy-to-use logging form with fillable fields and contact members available in September, December, March, and June for submitting attendance. Remember, late fees will be charged if attendance isn’t submitted by the deadlines. Logging can begin on the first day of school, with the recommended start date being the last Monday in August. (Parent may choose whatever start date they prefer, this is only a suggestion.)

-
Administrator will request previous school records and maintains a cumulative file with your annual paperwork, then transfers records when your family leaves.

-
Administrator files the California State affidavit in October and submits necessary health reports to the Department of Health. Both filings are anonymous, with only Administrator's name is included.

-
Administrator oversees optional items parents purchase, such as grade trackers, diplomas, and ID cards.

CURRICULUM AUTONOMY AND FREEDOM IN DAILY ROUTINES
Families purchase their own curriculum, plan their schedules, and create their homeschool routines. If you prefer more oversight and perhaps state provided books and materials, check out the Charter School Options.
HANDS-OFF HOMESCHOOLING
Do you prefer a hands-off approach where you make most of the educational decisions* for your children?
You will manage your homeschool independently with minimal oversight from the administrator. The Administrator remains uninvolved in daily school routines, aside from occasional email inquiries. Helpful resources include an example of a homeschool day and information for parents of high schoolers. Here on this page prospective member may also read about the Administrator’s personal experience homeschooling high schoolers in the early 2000s.
