K-3 GENERAL
This grade range requires much one on one time with parent, lessoning more and more as child learns to read. Parent will most likely follow a teacher’s manual for each subject with the main objective in getting their child reading independently. Parent will aim for proficiency in age-appropriate math facts.
K-3 LANGUAGE ARTS
One on one language arts, reading, phonics using chosen curriculum teacher manuals
K-3 MATH
One on one math instruction, using chosen curriculum teacher manuals
K-3 ELECTIVE OR CATCH UP TIME
Alternate elective like art or something else like science or history
K-3 LUNCH BREAK OR DISMISSAL
Dismissal okay for this level @ noon, or after lunch, teach a short subject
K-3 OTHER SUBJECTS
IF NOT DIMISSING do a final activity for the day: could be catch up, review, more reading, science or history. End by 1:30 pm.
4-8 GENERAL
This grade range requires some one on one time for new concepts in all subjects, especially math and science. Student will learn to follow written assignments and increase in independent learning. Parent will oversee daily tasks, progress and annual course expectations.
4-8 LANGUAGE ARTS
Independent readers: language arts, Reading, Spelling with assistance from teacher when requested
4-8 MATH
Following assignments in chosen math curriculum with assistance from teacher when requested
4-8 ELECTIVE, DELIGHT READING
Delight reading from age-appropriate literature book
4-8 LUNCH BREAK
4-8 SCIENCE
Science: following assignments in chosen science curriculum, completing labs, watching videos, etc
4-8 SOCIAL STUDIES
History: following assignments in chosen history curriculum, watching videos, etc. Teacher assists when requested.
4-8 ELECTIVE
Electives may be covered on alternate days, teaching one 2 days a week and the other 3 days a week
DISMISSAL TIME DEPENDING
UPON STUDENT
9-12 GENERAL
This grade range is almost completely independent, except for teaching new concepts in math and science. Parent mainly oversees work completed, organizes course expectations. As a good option, parents may contract outside help, paying a professional or using video instruction for math and science
